How EDF uses Visual Planning for teams, training projects, rooms, vehicles and other resources.

Company
EDF is an international energy supplier. The case study describes its use in a training programme run by EDF and Gaz de France. Historical employee figures from the original source are not included here as current company figures.
Background
The head of a 15-strong training team was looking for a solution to coordinate activities and those involved more transparently. The exchange of information between trainers, project managers and assistants was a key priority.
Solution
Following a demonstration and testing, Visual Planning was installed on the company’s own servers. After an internal audit, the system was rolled out more widely across the department in France, with over 100 licences. The system is used to plan staff involvement, absences and production volumes, and will later also be used to manage support calls, rooms, training materials and vehicles.
Results
EDF highlights the quick learning curve and the shared view of process chains. The solution has been extended to cover additional areas of application. The source does not contain any figures on time savings or productivity.
“Visual Planning enables us to plan for all parties involved along defined process chains and to analyse absences and production volumes.”
M. Tortes, EDF
