How Sabena Technics uses Visual Planning to coordinate hangars, aircraft, maintenance tasks and staff across different sites.

Company
Sabena Technics specialises in civil and military aircraft maintenance. Its services include line maintenance, base maintenance, modifications, consultancy and design, painting, and test equipment. Historical turnover and employee figures from the source are not presented as current figures.
Background
The availability of maintenance bays in hangars had to be planned transparently across 18 sites. According to the case study, a total of 30 aircraft can be serviced simultaneously. This required a user-friendly system that could be used across all sites.
Solution
Visual Planning maps aircraft, positions, hangars and staff in a configurable, multi-dimensional planning system. Around 100 people use the application, of whom around 20 do so throughout the entire working day.
Results
The case study highlights the ease of configuration, the graphical overview and the ability to export key performance indicators. Specific figures relating to productivity gains or time savings were not collected or published.
“The multi-dimensional graphical planning and the easily exportable key performance indicators are particularly valued.”
