Company

Socomec is an industrial group specialising in the availability, control and safety of low-voltage electrical networks. The original source historically cites 3,000 employees.

Background

A planning software programme previously used was not sufficiently suited to the organisation’s needs. The key factors were the ability to adapt flexibly to operational processes and the option to generate detailed event reports.

Solution

Visual Planning manages the activities of four departments. The application was structured in collaboration with a consultant to reflect the organisation’s workflow. Five administrators maintain the plans, whilst 29 other users have read-only access to them.

Results

Socomec highlights location-independent data access, rapid data entry and the consolidation of comprehensive daily information directly within the plan. The training took approximately one week. For filters and complex reports, the customer recommends additional training and a phased roll-out with tests following each configuration phase.

“The application maps out our work organisation and supports detailed analysis of the recorded data.”

Richard Legold, Head of the Electrical Engineering Laboratory, Socomec
