Visual Planning V10 is the most comprehensive new version of the resource planning software to date. Key features include the integrated AI VPilot, secure simulation environments, a modernised user interface and significantly expanded capabilities in the browser-based VPPortal.
The version was officially launched on 25 June 2026 and has been available for download since 1 July 2026. For businesses, this update means greater support for day-to-day planning tasks, improved options for comparing scenarios and a more consistent user interface across VPDesk and VPPortal. Below, we summarise the key new features in German.
| Milestone | Date |

| Migration of the shared VPCloud | September 2026 |
The four key new features of Visual Planning V10
1. VPilot: Artificial intelligence integrated directly into planning
With VPilot, Visual Planning integrates a dialogue-based AI assistant directly into the planning environment for the first time. Users can ask questions about their shared planning data, receive assistance with tasks and extract information from documents. A context-aware document search based on RAG helps users find relevant content more quickly.
- AI agent for queries and actions within the planning process
- Automatic extraction of selected data from documents
- Context-aware document search with RAG
- Selective and controlled provision of data via MCP
- Integration of various language models, such as ChatGPT, Mistral or Claude
The data available to the AI can be precisely controlled via categories and permissions. Further information can be found on our page about AI-powered planning board for resource planning.
2. Simulation environments: Test scenarios before they go live
The new simulation rooms allow multiple variants of a plan to be created in parallel. Teams can visually compare the scenarios with the production schedule, identify changes and compare key figures such as capacity utilisation plans or reports. The selected scenario can then be transferred to the production schedule, subject to business rules and data access rights.
- Create multiple planning scenarios in parallel
- Highlight deviations from the current production plan
- Compare capacity utilisation, reports and other indicators
- Transfer the approved scenario directly into production planning
3. Modernised user interface in VPDesk and VPPortal
VPDesk and VPPortal have been given a harmonised look and feel. Simplified context menus, new keyboard shortcuts and a freely positionable editing window are designed to speed up recurring tasks. Graphical reports have been modernised, and form fields can be shown or hidden depending on defined conditions.
4. More features in the browser-based VPPortal
VPPortal is becoming more similar in functionality to VPDesk. Users can select multiple entries, edit values in bulk and move items from lists into planning or calendar views using drag-and-drop. Web views and third-party applications can also be integrated. As before, the exact scope of functionality depends on configuration, role and permissions.
Improvements in planning, Gantt charts and document management
In addition to the four main features, Visual Planning V10 offers numerous minor improvements to aid day-to-day work:
- Planning view: Multi-line labels on timelines, multiple status icons and calendar weeks, even in the hourly view
- Gantt chart: Dependencies and the critical path can be shown or hidden as required
- VPDocumentum: Add files via drag-and-drop, make documents available via VPPortal and extract information with AI support
- VPGeoloc: Woosmap is available as a European alternative for geolocation
- VPAutomation: Scheduling and allocation algorithms now also take existing events into account
- Reports and key figures: Graphical reports appear consistently in editors, report views, VPPortal and VPDesk
- Traceability: A detailed history of configuration data supports audits and change control
You can find an overview of additional features on the page Modules for Visual Planning. Our page on the basics and typical areas of application describes Resource planning software.
This is how to upgrade to Visual Planning V10
The migration path depends on the operating model used:
- On-premises: Companies should first check their current contract and agree on licences and updates with their contact person. According to the manufacturer, the existing URL will remain unchanged.
- Shared VPCloud: According to the manufacturer, the migration is scheduled for September 2026 and will take place as planned without any action required on the part of users.
- Dedicated VPCloud: The migration date will be agreed individually with Stilog or the relevant sales partner.
